Organizations in Houston focuses on Celebration instead of Remembrance for Trans Folk

Starting November 15th, Save Our Sisters United, The Mahogany Project Inc., and The T.R.U.T.H Project will host a series of events entitled “Our Voice: A Weekend of Honoring UniTy”, dedicated to the Life, legacy, Experience and Visibility of Transgender, Gender-Nonconforming, Non-Binary, and Intersex individuals for their direct impact in the community and to the people they serve.

The racial counterparts of Caucasian ethnicity face self-inflicted harm and in most cases according to the National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS), suicide (5% vs 76%).
